Hey everyone!

I’m Isabel. I’m 21 years old and the creator of Resort Archives. Here’s a little bit about me:

Where are you from?
I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and moved to North Carolina when I was about seven.

Where did you go to school?
I graduated from UNCW in May 2025 with a B.S. in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing Strategy, and a minor in Digital Arts.

When and how did you learn how to sew?
My mom first taught me to hand-sew when I was young. I always loved making little projects on my sewing machine, but I formally learned the art of making clothing from scratch in high school when I took Apparel and Textile Development as an elective class.

What do you love outside of swimwear?
When I’m not working on Resort Archives, I love spending time with friends and family, going on walks, or trying new Pilates classes. Cooking is also one of my favorite ways to unwind and stay healthy.

I’ve always loved the freedom my sewing machine gave me: tweaking patterns, playing with ruffles, lace, and trims to make something completely me. Four summers ago, I fell in love with designing swimwear.

In the beginning, I was carefully following sewing patterns, making simple bikinis with not much personalization. Over time, I taught myself how to alter patterns, sew with underwire, and incorporate trims, ruffles, and other frills to make my swimwear truly feel like me.

I started out ordering fabrics from a catalog of existing prints, but I quickly found myself designing custom prints, just little drawings on my iPad. The first print I got made was in 2022, a simple polka dot.  I’ve designed many prints since then, but polka dots have stayed my favorite due to the nostalgia and charm that they bring.

I created @resortarchives as a digital portfolio account to share my creations. I knew once I finished school, I wanted to turn my hobby into a real brand. I started selling individual bikinis on Instagram a week after graduating college, just planning to start small and grow organically. Shortly after, I received the opportunity to start my own label, with full size runs and this website. 

I’m so grateful for the kind support and encouragement I’ve received from my friends, family, and strangers. 

This brand was born out of my love for all things dainty and unapologetically feminine. It’s been the coolest experience so far and I am beyond blessed that I get to pursue this. I hope you love it as much as I do.
